UDC works through Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and acquisitions.

UDC is fully owned by Government of Uganda and established by Act of Parliament (UDC Act 2016) whose mandate, is to promote and facilitate the industrial and economic development of Uganda.

The partnerships and projects are carefully selected through a rigorous process which includes the fundamental principles of the ability of a given project to create both direct and indirect employment, utilization of local raw materials/resources, improvement in the trade balance to either increase exports or reduce imports, and development of local entrepreneurship.

Projects financed and invested in include; Agriculture, Mineral beneficiation/extraction and Infrastructure and service development, among others.  

Applicants must be incorporated entities, co-operatives or registered farmer groups. The projects must fall in our defined priority sectors.
